world antimony market stagnant

JIEFU antimony trioxide
For lack of consumer interests, European antimony market is still in stagnancy and price is stable at around USD5,500/t in warehouse Rotterdam.

A German trader disclosed that the last offer he received from a Chinese supplier was about 40-60 tonnes standard grade two antimony ingot at USD5,450/t CIF Rotterdam for prompt shipment, and USD5,500/t CIF Rotterdam for 99.65%min improved grade two with low bismuth.

The source offered USD5,500/t for Rotterdam prompt release, but received no answers from the consumers. He told Asian Metal that there are some Chinese suppliers/traders who are trying to push the European traders out from the market by offering lower prices to the end-users and higher prices to the traders.

As there are still many small antimony mines remaining shutdown in Hunan, the trader thinks price will keep at the current level for the rest of summer. Even if the production in China returns to normal, it will take at least one month for the material shipped to Europe, and market should have already turned around at that time.

A Belgium trader confirmed the price of slightly below USD5,500/t CIF Rotterdam for the standard grade two antimony ingot from Chinese suppliers. He is trying to convince his customers to accept the price of USD5,600-5,625/t ex-warehouse Rotterdam. “Market is still very slow at the moment because of summer holiday.”
