A Shanghai-based trader, who sells around 30-40t of antimony ingot to alloy producers every month, reported that he bought 60t of antimony ingot 99.65%min at RMB73,500/t (USD11,069/t) delivered to Shanghai when the price just rose in early November, and has only 10t in stock at present.
"Producers in Hunan claimed that they are carrying out long-term contracts with December or January shipment, and do not have spot materials to sell," remarked the source, adding that antimony ingot supply is short in Yunnan.
A Guangdong-based antimony ingot trader, with a trading volume of around 120tpm when the market is stable and 80ptm this year, told Asian Metal that he sold around 20t of antimony ingot 99.65%min at RMB80,000/t (USD12,048/t) delivered early this week.
